Post CROCK POT HAM & SCALLOPED POTATOES
CROCK POT HAM & SCALLOPED POTATOES

6 to 8 slices ham
8 med. potatoes, peeled, sliced thin
Salt & pepper
2 onions, peeled, sliced thin
1 c. grated cheddar cheese
1 (10 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
Paprika

Layer half of potatoes, ham and onions in crock pot. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then half of grated cheese. Spoon undiluted soup over top. Repeat layers again. Sprinkle with paprika. Cover and cook on low 8 hours; or high for 4 hours.

Notes:
I can't seem to find the one that I used just a few weeks ago, it is in this mess of papers somewhere and of course I can't find it online again either. This one appears to be the same as the one I used!! I also don't use the onions and it was still good!!

I also don't see why you can't just use the recipe that you would use to put in the oven just transform it to 2 layers in the crock pot and cook 8 hours on low or 4 hours on high.

You could also subtitute the cream sause (onions, milk and flour, I think) you make for some scalloped potatoes for the the mushroom soup.

I love this one:

6 frozen chicken breasts (my family usually only eats 3 so I only put 3 in!)
1-2 cans cream of mushroom soup
1 can mushrooms
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Place frozen chicken in crock-pot
Mix together other ingredients
Pour over chicken and cover
Cook on low 10-12 hours
Serve over rice

I made this one for the first time a few weeks ago, and then again for dinner tonight. It's easy and yummy! Don't you love crockpot cooking? You get a descent meal with little work and your house smells all yummy!

Pork Roast

3-5 pound pork roast
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
1 tablespoon of garlic salt
1 medium onion, sliced
1 bay leaf

Throw together in crockpot and cook on HIGH for 1 hour and LOW for 6 hours.

Both times I made this we had sandwiches with it. I just got some hard rolls from the bakery.

Post Crockpot Creamy Chicken
Girls, you have GOT to try this one! I made this for the first time last night and it was serious YUM! Even Maggie wolfed it down! I love that it was easy and cheap! This one is definitely going into my rotation of dinners. Smile

Crockpot Creamy Chicken

2-3 chicken breasts (depending on how many people you're feeding)
1 can of cream of mushroom soup (can use cream of whatever)
1/2 cup of chicken broth
packet of Italian salad dressing mix
2 cloves, minced garlic
8 oz block of cream cheese (to add later)
12 - 16 ounces of pasta (I used rotini noodles)

Place chicken breasts in the crockpot. Mix the soup, broth, salad dressing mix and garlic together in a small bowl; pour over chicken. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Shred the chicken with two large forks, then mix in the cream cheese (I cut the cream cheese into cubes so that it would melt faster). Switch the crockpot to high and cook for another 30 minutes or until the cream cheese is fully melted.

Serve over cooked pasta.

Note: this was more of a casserole consistency than a pasta/sauce consistency. If you want a more liquidy sauce, you can probably add additional chicken broth or some milk/cream.

Made this last night and everyone loved it. The chops are outstanding.

Pork Loin Chops and Baked Apples (to be made in a double bowl crockpot)

4 thick boneless pork chops (1 ½ lbs)
¼ cup apple juice
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tbsp. soy sauce

3 large Golden Delicious apples (peeled, cored, and cut in half)
1 tbsp. butter, melted
1 tbsp. sugar
¼ tsp cinnamon

Place chops in one double bowl. Combine apple juice, brown sugar, and soy sauce and drizzle over chops. Place apples in other double bowl. Drizzle with butter, then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Pour 1 qt. water in crockpot. Place bowls in crock. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours. Makes 4 servings.

I was wondering the same thing. Is that a larger crockpot? Mine is a 3.5 qt, I think.

Mine is a large crockpot that also comes with two small bowls that fit inside the crock. So I can cook one very large meal or 2 things side by side.

I don't know if anyone else has seen this website for crock pot cooking, but I thought it was pretty cool.

http://crockpot365.blogspot.com/

I made the Red Wine and Cranberry Pot Roast and it was fantastic. The ingredient list is not exotic or expensive, although when you look at them you'll think, ew, this sounds a little gross. But try it, we loved it.

She also has Gluten Free recipes which I think is pretty cool and all sorts of other categories to search.
