What are you girls up to on this rainy, rainy Friday? Anything exciting?

I did the weekly grocery shopping this morning with both babies in tow. It took me two hours. I am not even kidding you. I NEVER take the beasts on the weekly trip, but we were completely out of milk and a bunch of other stuff and I didn't want to go out later with the snowy-mix that's coming. SO, I took them both. Two hours, a diaper blow-out, a temper tantrum and a time-out later, we returned. I'm never doing that again!

Other than that excitement, I'm tidying, Maggie's playing and Sambo's snoozing. I'm thinking Mags and I are going to whip up some cookies this afternoon! YUM!

I think we will do some cookies as well! I did some of my homework. We shopped at Golden. I had an eye appt. We took care of Jess's dogs. Did school work. Cleaned out the junk drawers. OOhh a clean and organized junk drawer. I know it's and oxymoron. Cleaned the house, aahhhhh! That clean house feeling... Going to start some homemade spaghetti sauce. And if I feel ambitious I will make apple crisp. Perfect day for all the foods that aren't great for you..

I didn't get much accomplished other than a 1 1/2 hour nap! It felt really good. At this point I am just trying to keep the house fairly clean and the laundry done. I am doing pretty well with that!

I have been spending the last couple weeks trying to get the really-good house cleaning done (where you pull everything out of a room and get all the dust elephants out and organize things where they belong). This has been extremely challenging in a small house where there is no where to go with it when you pull it out and then you feel like you are making a bigger mess instead of cleaning, scattering the dust, and the kids ALWAYS become very interested in every little thing you pull out of a closet or under the bed. It has been moments of frustration, but I keep telling myself I am making progress and keep going at it slow.

Anyway...I spend the day pulling apart the living room while my husband worked in the rain and snow until he came home dripping at the back door at about 3pm. I took all tthree kids out in the snow to the Halloween/Fall celebration at the Sayner library (which was very cool and the kids had a blast) from 6:30 until they said the roads were getting bad and encouraged us to get going. Needless to say I did it alone with the kids because I did not blame my husband for not wanting to go back out in the cold.
