Post A vacuum fixer-person
Know anyone who can fix a vacuum cleaner? I am interested in getting mine fixed rather than replacing it. Thanks.

I took my own apart - you'd be amazed how easy it is. Turned out the main line was clogged (with a dog hair and cereal bar combination), and once cleared worked great.

I'm sure Jack and Peyton could take it apart for you in less than a minute and you would find the problem. The bigger problem would be putting it back together of course...

Ours sounded like it was stuffed full of marbles and jacks and pencils and Polly Pocket pieces and legos, so Jack took ours apart and now it sounds like we have our own personal bulldozer (5x louder sound, but smooth and grumbling).

Like Jack says though - at least it works again. Some night at midnight when I'm done with my basic chores, and right after my to-do list including the vacuuming of cobwebs out from under my bed, I will add "take apart vacuum again and re-examine it". That's where ours is at on the priority list at the moment. Smile

The guy at AVCO (on the side street by Goodwill) does a good job and he is really nice. It is where I bought my vacuum and few years ago. I don't know if he services all vacuums, but he is nice enough to tell you what options you have.

Good luck!
